The new 0.5 mm pitch auto-locking FPC
connector combines high-speed signal transmission with an automatic locking
mechanism. The FPC locks automatically upon insertion, eliminating the need to
manually operate a latch. This helps simplify assembly and improve efficiency
in automated production. Based on signal simulation results, the connector
supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) and is suitable for eDP HBR3 (8.1 Gbps) and
V-by-One (3.75 Gbps) high-speed signal transmission.
Key Features
Automatic Locking Upon Insertion
The FPC locks automatically upon insertion,
eliminating the need to open and close a conventional locking latch. This
design is well suited for automated assembly and high-volume production.
High-Speed Signal Transmission
Signal simulation results indicate support
for USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps), eDP HBR3 (8.1 Gbps), and V-by-One (3.75 Gbps).
High Reliability
A high-retention-force design, spring
preload, and a metal protective structure help enhance FPC connection
stability. The minimum FPC retention force is (20 + 0.1 × n) N, where n is the
number of contacts.
Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)
An FPC insertion inspection window enables
AOI equipment to verify that the FPC is fully inserted, helping improve
assembly quality in automated production.
